Improving Your Employee Value Proposition - Ascent Conference

Improving Your Employee Value Proposition

Joining a distinguished panel of HR leaders in SaaS is Robert Hicks, Group HR Director at Reward Gateway, in one of the sessions for our upcoming Spotlight on Human Capital event.

The Link Between Employee Experience and Employee Engagement

The last 18 months have modified the way HR teams function. With the implementation of remote work policies, building teams and retaining talent became increasingly tricky, especially for companies entering virtual territory for the first time.

Employee experience and employee engagement are two closely related terms that won’t work without each other. In his article for Reward Gateways, group HR director Robert Hicks emphasizes the importance of creating an engagement culture within the organization, from the hiring process until an employee decides to look for opportunities elsewhere. And with layoffs and talent moves more common due to the pandemic, business leaders and HR teams must also boost their employee value proposition to retain the best talent, differentiate their companies from the rest, and improve the employee experience.

In his 25 years as an HR practitioner, Robert is no stranger to how much the industry has grown regarding tech integration, recruitment and onboarding, and most importantly, employee engagement. Now, he’s leading his team at Reward Gateway towards providing employees with the best experience and company culture in the virtual era. In a recent interview with us, he shared some wisdom on how they do it and let us have a glimpse into what the future holds for HR.

Has the HR industry changed over the past 18 months? How do you see it changing in the next couple of years?

In the last 18 months, HR has had to plug in a lot of gaps. In terms of how HR will change, the use of technology and its integration into HR processes will need to increase because the more you rely on people, the more fallible your processes are. Secondly, the integration will need to be more unified – more of communicating with each other and having consistent processes.

How does the Reward Gateway platform help teams keep communication channels open in a remote setup?

The challenges we companies are having are recognizing employees, communicating with people, and locating company updates. These can be challenging as you might have to go to five different places for them. But if a company uses Reward Gateway, their staff go to their site on our platform, and they can see a video update from their CEO or see the sales team talking about sales numbers. Staff can also do productive and rewarding things such as completing a survey or giving a colleague recognition.

We have a single bespoke platform for doing things, which looks and feels like the client’s own internal system. It enhances both employee engagement and experience, creates clarity of leadership, and improves management processes.

You’re part of our upcoming panel: Virtual Culture: The New Employee Experience. Can you give us a glimpse us a preview of the session?

The Spotlight on Human Capital attendees can expect insights into what has changed in the last 18 months and predictions on how technology will further change HR. They will also learn which stages of the employee lifecycle they should focus on depending on their challenges. I’m hoping to provide a peek into what we’ve worked on over the last 18 months and what we see for HR going forward.

I’m excited to share the stage with other HR leaders and see everyone there.

Save your spot today to hear more from Robert and the rest of our speakers for our Spotlight on Human Capital event on August 5th.
