Before Ascent Conference, Chris was experiencing problems with enterprise sales, finding investors who fit, and building connections in NYC. He had tried cold emails and introductions from other founders and found that he had no in with the NYC startup community to solve the problem.
What made a difference to Chris was Ascent’s high ratio of investors to startups, the opportunity to pitch, and the location. He got the opportunity to meet investors face-to-face through his exhibitor booth, networking events, and intimate workshops and he even walked away with a $135,000 investment. “I created connections in the New York startup scene that have helped us raise money and make further connections in the community.”
When is the Ascent Virtual Conference?
September 30 – October 1, 2020
What is a “Virtual” Conference? Does that mean it’s not in person?
The event this year is conducted in an online, fully virtual environment using a combination of online tools, video streaming, Zoom meetings, and more.
Is there a pitch competition?
Yes! As part of signing up for an exhibitor package, you are entered into the pitch competition.
What is the pitch? Is it live?
Startup exhibitors who want to pitch may upload a 3-minute pitch video that is entered into the pitch competition and will be available for all attendees and investors to view. Our judges will select the finalists who will pitch live on our main virtual stage to the entire audience of the conference.
What are the 1 on 1 meetings with investors?
As an exhibitor, you have the ability to schedule 1 on 1 meetings with investors and clients through the event website. Meetings are conducted via video conference.
Do you allow exhibitors from outside of the US?
Yes, exhibitors from across the world are welcome.
What types of investors attend?
Ascent will have up to 2,000 investors across a variety of industry verticals. We are the largest gathering of US-based VC’s in 2020.
What funding stages of companies should exhibit?
About 60% of companies that exhibit at Ascent would be looking to raise pre-seed or seed round funding. Companies who have raised a seed round and are looking to the future of a Series A or B round represent about 40%.
What is a “Virtual Booth”?
The virtual booth is your home base for your company during the event. You can use this booth to show off your pitch, marketing materials, and to chat with conference attendees who visit your booth, much like you would in person.
How many tickets does each startup exhibitor receive?
You receive 3 general admission tickets as part of your exhibition package.
Someone on my team can’t attend, can I transfer their ticket to another team member?
Yes, you may do so through our online portal once you have registered.
Can I attend round tables and listen to speakers if I sign up as an exhibitor?
Absolutely and we encourage it! Your general admission passes as part of the package allow you to attend all the conference events.
What is the difference between the “Early Stage” and “Growth Stage” Startup Exhibitor Packages?
We provide a discounted rate to early stage companies to attend the conference, the packages otherwise provide identical benefits.

Our Junior Sponsorship level allows an exhibitor to host a roundtable talk to show off their expertise in a subject, see more below.
What industry verticals attend?
Ascent does not restrict any exhibitor from attending based on their industry vertical, however, the majority of companies that attend may categorize themselves as tech companies in areas such as SaaS, software, sales automation, marketing automation, or AI. In addition, many other verticals have been well established at the conference such: as wearables, health care, fintech, robotics, and the cannabis industry.
What is a “Junior Sponsorship”?
A Junior Sponsorship is our highest level of Startup Exhibitor packages, for the startup that wants to make a big impact. If you’re looking to position your company as a thought leader in the industry this is the package for you. You receive all the benefits of a startup exhibitor package, plus the incredible option to host a virtual roundtable to show off your expertise in your area. You also receive leads from the conference as well as branding in Ascent emails and on the website.
